Neti-Pots, pickle pops and possum patties!

Good Morning!
What bizarre things we learned about today! Who knew that you could put a teapot up your nose for allergy relief?! Craving pickles? How about a pickle pop?! And it was quite shocking to learn of the annual "Roadkill Cook-off" in West Virginia, which celebrates dishes made with any animal that might commonly be found on the side of the road. Possum patty, anyone?!
Scott has decided to try the "Neti-Pot" for his allergies! In fact, if you're feeling especially brave, check out the "how-to" video on YouTube!
We have so much fun hanging out with you in the morning--thanks for letting us!

God bless you today!

Are oranges fast food?

Believe it or not, it appears that people are opting to eat tangerines rather than oranges, because oranges "take too long to peel." Wow! A true sign that our world has gotten too busy! You can read this story on our news page at http://www.air1.com/, along with some other favorites like the goat that took a bus ride (!), the 71-year old veteran who fought off a robbery and the story about airlines considering charging us by how much we weigh!

Speaking of airlines, if you're planning on traveling this summer, there are some helpful tips you should check out before you leave home. Other sites that could be helpful include information on "Toilet Training School," where you can visit the "Coppertone Derma-Photo Booth," and a fun site where you can get your "birth verse!"

Thank you so much for listening to Air 1---we love waking up with you every day!

Pain at the pump!

Good Morning!
Thanks so much for the great tips on stretching you dollar at the gas pump! You suggested everything from switching the car off while idling, to removing the rack on the top of the car to reduce drag. Whatever we can do to save a few bucks on fuel these days, we're all for it!
The news page at http://www.air1.com/ is full of fun stuff today, including the "spellcheck" error in a school yearbook, why scientists think we should have bugs for dinner and the man who is buried in a Pringles can!

Kelli found a book that sounds like fun--it's called "Tied in Knots," and is full of funny wedding-day stories (including the wild squirrel that tried to destroy the wedding cake!!!).

Don't forget that you are loved by God today! Here's the quote from Brennan Manning's book "Abba's Child" that was read on the show today:

"Define yourself radically as one beloved by God. This is the true self. Every other identity is illusion."

Thanks for listening! Have a fantastic day!

New week and new month!

Good morning!
Thanks so much for listening to the Air 1 Morning Show--we really appreciate you!
Food is always a big deal on the show! Today, it was all about "Fair Food!" You know, deep fried, horribly unhealthy, but delicious food! The latest thing to be soaked in oil is the "deep fried latte'!" Yum! And if you're looking for an easy meal to make, check out the creative recipes for easy crock-pot meals (year around!).

Real Simple magazine has an essay competition to find out what was the most important day of your life. Top prize? $3000.00! Go for it!

Thanks again for spending time with us today--we love you!

Is yawning REALLY contageous?!

Happy Friday!
Poor Scott was a bit tired this morning after staying up way too late to see the season finale of "Lost," so he could not stop yawning. Which made Kelli yawn. Which made you yawn. Must be contageous! Besides needing more sleep, most people seemed to think that Scott needed more oxygen in his brain. Then I guess we all do, as we were all yawning right along with him!

In revenge for the "Spam" discussion yesterday, Kelli brought a soy patty for breakfast, which caused Scott to describe the smell as "old gym shoes!" Kelli was just grateful that the patty was not slimy and pink!

We have a lot of fun hanging out with you in the morning! In all seriousness, though--we want you to know that we love you and God loves you. In fact, check out this quote from Max Lucado that was shared on the show today. He is talking about Jeremiah 31:3.

"God loves you. Personally. Powerfully. Passionately. Others have promised and failed. But God has promised and succeeded. He loves you with an unfailing love."

Have a fabulous weekend, knowing that you are loved by God!

Spam-tastic!

Wow! Who knew there were so many strong opinions on the subject of "Spam?!!!"

After a news story that said that people are buying more Spam, possibly due to high grocery prices, Scott declared that he loves Spam. Kelli, on the other hand said that any meat that looks like pink jello should not be eaten! Air 1 listeners are quite divided on the issue!

If you're looking for a new idea for a gift for Father's Day, check out a website where you can turn digital photos into a really sweet coffee-table book! How cool is that?
Thanks again for listening--you are the best!

The pains of exercise...!

Good Morning!
Thanks so much for hanging out with us this morning! Poor Scott is feeling the pain of healthy living as he has started an extreme workout plan that has him too sore to put his headphones on without groaning! All your tips (i.e. drink lots of water, do some stretches and take lots of ibuprofen!) were appreciated!
Some of the most popular stories on our news page today at http://www.air1.com/ talked about the new gourmet M & M's, the worst companies for customer service (ever waited all day for the cable guy?!!!) and the miracle of the woman who was brought back to life!

Thanks again for sharing your lives with us!

We love you!

Memorial Day Weekend!

It's the weekend--a holiday weekend! In the midst of your BBQing on this "official kick-off to summer," please take some time to write a quick note of thanks to our troops for their willingness to make the ultimate sacrifice. Just visit http://www.air1.com/ to express your thanks. Your emails will be gathered and sent to our servicemen and women who are stationed around the world.
Check out some great tips for keeping your family safe, including "babyproofing" your home and protecting from fire danger--you can find them at My Safe Home.
And it's not too late to express your condolences to Steven Curtis Chapman and his family. Send your note to morningshow@air1.com and we'll be sure to pass it along to the family.

Thanks so much for listening to the Air 1 Morning Show--we love you! Take this blessing from the book "Abba's Child," by Brennan Manning with you into your weekend:

"May all your expectations be frustrated, may all your plans be thwarted, may all your desires be withered into nothingness, that you may experience the powerlessness and poverty of a child and sing and dance in the love of God who is Father, Son and Spirit."
In Him,

Pray for the Chapman family

Our hearts are broken today for the family of Christian artist Steven Curtis Chapman who lost their 5-year old daughter, Maria in a tragic accident last night. Thank you so much for your precious phone calls and prayers on their behalf. You have blessed us and I know that your prayers are appreciated by the family.

To send your condolences to the family, you can email us at morningshow@air1.com and we'll be sure to pass them along to Steven and his family. Also, the family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Shaohanna's Hope in honor of Maria.

Thank you for sharing your hearts and for praying today.

We love you!

Say thanks to our troops!

Good morning!
Huge thanks to everyone who has already written a note of thanks to our troops in honor of Memorial Day! It's not too late to express your thanks---just go to http://www.air1.com/ and click the "Thank the Troops" banner. The emails will be gathered and sent to our servicemen and women who are stationed around the world!

Speaking of thanking our troops, we learned about a very cool organization that sends care packages to the troops! It's called "Blue Star Moms" and it's a fantastic way to encourage our servicemen and women.

We battled it out today over "The Davids" on American Idol--one will be crowned the winner tonight. Scott is adamant that it's gotta be Cook, while Kelli stands by Archuleta. Air 1 listeners are still pretty divided as well! But, we all agree that the vote will be VERY close and that they are both fantastic!

We love hearing from you, so feel free to phone us anytime at 1-888-WIN-AIR1 or email us at morningshow@air1.com!

We pray that God pours His love on you today!

Chuck Norris is THE MAN!

Good Morning!

We decided today that Chuck Norris is the ultimate role model! Not only does he speak boldly about his faith in Christ, but he is SO tough! In fact, some say that Chuck Norris is the reason Waldo is hiding! :) Scott is determined to get Chuck Norris on the show---so, if you know anyone who knows him...!

The big "sing-off" between "The Davids" happens on American Idol tonight and it seems that Air 1 listeners would make it a tie! Go David!

God is SO good! Did you hear about the new church that Dwayne Wade gave to his mom? What an incredible story of the change that only God can make! Read it for yourself on the news page at http://www.air1.com/. Thanks for sharing your stories of God's miracles--wow! We never get tired of hearing what He has done!

Have a fantastic Tuesday!

Happy Monday!

Happy Monday!

As we approach Memorial Day, we can't say "thanks" enough to our troops and their families for their sacrifice. In fact, check out http://www.air1.com/ and write a personal note of thanks that will be mailed to the troops!
In addition to Memorial Day, May is also recognized as National Foster Care Month--thanks, foster parents!
Check out the news page for the stories we talked about today, including the latest study on cell phone use and pregnant women, the "Veggie Pride Parade" ("Give peas a chance!!!"), and the box-office returns for Prince Caspian after opening weekend.
The winner of "America's Next Top Model" was surprising--a size 10 woman won the top prize! Fabulous! The disappointing part is the fact that she is referred to as "plus sized." The controversy reminded us of the importance of remembering that God looks at the heart and that outward appearance doesn't matter to God! Check out Song of Solomon 2:10-14 and be encouraged--God is crazy about you!
Thanks so much for sharing your lives with us--drop us a line anytime at morningshow@air1.com or call us in the studio at 1-888-WIN-AIR1!

We love you!

Truffles and Dudes

Happy Friday!!!
It is the end of our first week on the Air 1 Morning Show and we've learned so much from you already! For instance, we learned that Scott's name should actually be "Steve," girls AND guys like to "scrunch" their hair and that truffles are not, in fact, just chocolate, but are also overpriced mushrooms that pigs dig from the dirt. Yum.
If you want to learn more about something we've talked about on the show, be sure to check the news page at http://www.air1.com/! Today, the favorites are the unnaturally large cow, a record-breaking Girl Scout Cookie sales record and the 5 mistakes that women make at the doctor's office. Also, hear a review of the movies coming this weekend (Prince Caspian!) from Plugged In Online before heading to the theater.

Oh yeah, wanna win $5000? Your kids could win--check out http://www.legocreation.com/ for details!
Have a super weekend!

Remember "The Electric Company?!"

Word is out that some old "classics" are returning to TV--remember "The Gong Show?!" How about "The Electric Company?" Both of these classic 1970's shows are returning to TV and it seems that most of you are more excited about the return of those shows than the return of "Beverly Hills 90210" (yes, it's baaaack!!!)!

If you are on the hunt for a new job (new college grad, perhaps?), check out the Top 10 interview mistakes to avoid before you head to that interview!

And, how would you like to win pancakes for life?! IHOP wants to give 'em to you! See IHOP for all the details!

Don't forget--tomorrow is the last day to get qualified to get "All Access to Ichthus," so keep listening for your cue to call in and win!

Thanks again for letting us be a part of your lives--we love hanging out with you in the mornings!

Call us anytime at 1-888-WIN-AIR1 or send us an email at morningshow@air1.com!

May God bless your day today!

Switchfoot and Barley!

First, thanks so much for listening! It's a lot of fun waking you up every morning!

Did you know that "pearl barley" is actually edible (see photo!)? We learned that today--thanks to you! In fact, it's one of the top 10 healthy foods that cost less than $1!
Read the whole list and save some bucks on groceries!

Switchfoot was all over TV last night, as they performed their new song from the Prince Caspian movie on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and contestant David Cook sang "Dare You To Move" on American Idol! Whoo hoo! Check out their performance on Leno here:

Speaking of American Idol, everyone is talking about the final three and who's going home tonight! The straw poll seems to still lean toward "The Davids" as the final two, but we'll find out tonight! Kelli thinks Archuleta will win, while Scott is in the Cook camp. Won't we both be surprised if Syesha wins! It could happen. We never saw the whole Taylor Hicks thing coming!

I don't know if you've seen that McDonald's commercial where two friends are eating lunch and one of the women "gets Ma'am'd." Well, Scott got "ma'am'd" this morning, which was weird! He expects an occasional "sir," but a "ma'am?!" Whoa! He might have to start answering the phone in his "Movie Trailer Voice" more often!

We want you to know that we appreciate you! We love to chat with you and pray for you! Call us anytime in the Air 1 studio at 1-888-WIN-AIR1 or shoot us an email at morningshow@air1.com!

Good Morning!

I gotta tell you, Scott and I are having SO much fun hanging out with you in the mornings!

Today we talked about the importance of wearing sunscreen and getting your skin checked by a dermotologist on a regular basis. In fact, you can get it checked for free in the months of May, June and July! Just go to http://www.skincancertakesfriends.com/ to learn more!

We've all been there! Those embarrassing moments that we hope no one remembers. Too bad for poor Tony Romo of the Dallas Cowboys, his embarrassing moment was caught on tape and will be repeated way too many times! See it for yourself!

We feel for ya, Tony! :)

Oh, and don't worry--there are still lots of chances to win that trip for you and 3 friends to the Ichthus Music Festival in Kentucky--keep listening to win!

By the way, we love to talk with you, so feel free to call us in the Air 1 studio anytime at 1-888-WIN-AIR1!

Changes, changes!!!

Wow! Life is sure full of change, huh? Thanks so much for welcoming the new Morning Show team, Scott & Kelli! We felt so welcomed today on our first day! Despite the fact that Scott had a "coffee disaster" on his shirt (you've gotta watch the webcam at www.air1.com, you never know what will happen!!!), we hit a few wrong buttons and said the name of our former station ("KLOVE") at least once, it was a lot of fun!

Today we learned that some moms deserve a "Mother's Day Redo," that you feel that American Idol SHOULD come down to "The Two Davids" and that you "know your Greek" in Air 1's "All Access to Ichthus" contest (there's still lots of chances to win--go to www.air1.com for the scoop)!

Thanks for making our first day so much fun!
